API Terms of Use
These API Terms govern programmatic access to Searchee (HTTP APIs authenticated with API keys or equivalent credentials). They supplement the general Terms of Use. If a conflict arises, the more specific rule below applies to API usage.
1) Acceptance
By creating API keys or sending authenticated API requests, you agree to these API Terms together with the general Terms, the API Privacy Notice, and applicable plan or order terms.
2) License to Use the API
Subject to compliance with these terms and your plan entitlements, Searchee grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to call the APIs made available to your account. No ownership of Searchee software, data, or trademarks is granted beyond this limited right of use.
3) API Keys and Account Responsibility
- API keys are secrets. You are responsible for all usage attributable to keys issued to your account.
- You must not share keys across unrelated parties, embed keys in public repositories or client-side code, or circumvent key rotation or revocation controls.
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect a key was exposed or misused.
4) Acceptable Use (API)
In addition to the general Acceptable Use rules, you agree not to:
- Exceed rate limits, quotas, or scopes assigned to your keys or plan.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or exploit API infrastructure beyond what is needed for legitimate integration.
- Resell or sublicense API access in ways that violate plan terms or misrepresent the origin of traffic.
- Use the APIs to violate third-party rights, applicable law, or export controls.
We may throttle, suspend, or revoke keys or accounts when automated or manual review indicates risk, abuse, or policy violations.
5) Metering, Billing, and Plans
- Usage may be measured per request, per token, or by other published units depending on product and plan.
- Prepaid balances, subscriptions, and enterprise arrangements are governed by the pricing page, checkout terms, and your payment provider’s policies where applicable.
- You remain liable for charges incurred through your keys until keys are revoked or the account is closed according to billing rules.
6) Data and Privacy
Processing of personal or sensitive data through APIs is described in the API Privacy Notice. You must ensure your integration complies with privacy laws applicable to your end users and to any personal data you submit in queries or payloads.
7) Service Levels and Changes
APIs may evolve: endpoints, fields, limits, and behavior can change with notice where practicable. High availability is a goal, not a guarantee. Maintenance, incidents, or abuse mitigation may temporarily affect access.
8) Intellectual Property
Responses may include third-party content governed by those third parties’ terms. Except for rights expressly granted here, no license is granted to Searchee trademarks, documentation beyond personal use, or underlying systems.
9) Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
API responses and metadata are provided as is and as available, without warranties beyond those required by law. To the maximum extent permitted, Searchee is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from API use, including reliance on automated outputs.
10) Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate API access for breach, risk to the platform, non-payment, or legal requirement. You may stop using the APIs at any time; outstanding obligations and metering through the effective date may still apply.
11) Changes
We may update these API Terms to reflect product, security, or legal requirements. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires a different process.
