Privacy Policy
Searchee is an AI-powered privacy search engine. Protecting user privacy is a core product principle, not an optional feature.
Scope
This policy describes the interactive web search experience, account services, and general data practices. If you use programmatic APIs, also read the API Privacy Notice, which explains key-based access, metering, and API-specific logging.
1) Privacy by Design
We design Searchee to minimize personal data processing. In normal use of the search experience, we avoid collecting or retaining personal information unless it is required to operate core services securely and reliably.
2) Information We Process
Depending on how you use Searchee, we may process:
- Search and technical metadata (limited): request metadata needed for performance, abuse prevention, and system operations.
- Account data (membership services): email address, password hash, session records, and plan state needed to provide registration, login, subscriptions, and account recovery workflows.
- Country-level geolocation (session context): when enabled, we may derive a country code from request IP using an external GeoIP provider and store only country-level metadata in session/account context.
- Billing-related data: payment and subscription references supplied by payment providers for paid plans.
- API usage records: usage counters and billing event data required to enforce limits, quotas, entitlements, and prepaid balances.
We do not sell personal data.
3) Why We Process Data
We process the minimum necessary data to:
- Deliver search and API functionality.
- Protect service integrity, reliability, and security.
- Apply anti-bot controls (for example challenge verification and abuse rate limiting) to protect authentication and API endpoints.
- Authenticate users and manage account sessions.
- Operate memberships, subscriptions, and prepaid usage plans.
- Meet legal and compliance obligations.
4) Retention
Searchee generally avoids retaining personal data beyond operational necessity.
For registered users, information provided during registration is retained as required for correct operation of membership services (for example: authentication, active subscriptions, billing history, and account security controls).
Country geolocation context is limited to country-level values used for session personalization and abuse prevention workflows.
Retention periods may vary by data type and legal requirement.
5) Security
We use layered technical and organizational safeguards to protect account and service data, including access controls, credential hashing, and service-level monitoring.
6) Third-Party Services
Some capabilities (such as payment processing or optional integrations) are provided by third parties. Those services process data under their own policies and contractual terms.
7) Your Choices
You can choose whether to create an account, use paid plans, or use API features. Where applicable, you can request account updates or deletion subject to legal, security, and financial recordkeeping requirements.
8) Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page.
